Sean, 9 years old - 3rd Grade

Sean’s mother tells how he advanced his reading skills beyond his grade level through one-on-one tutoring at the LP Learning Center.

“I tried to work with him, but he was really frustrated with reading.  He wouldn’t read the books for reports, and it got to the point that he stopped reading all other textbooks as well.  I would ground him, but nothing helped. Nothing motivated him, and I asked him why he wouldn’t read.  He told me the hardest thing to hear as a parent.  He told me he was dumb. And you know, he actually believed it.  And that broke my heart; I didn’t know what to do.  I found the LP Learning Center online and gave them a call.  They told me they had just the tutor in mind for Sean.  I thought what could they do that I couldn’t, but Sean’s tutor worked with him one-on-one and gave him the tools to learn vocabulary, to read for the main message, and how to get the most out of a textbook.  Now, Sean’s finished with his reading before I ask him if he’s done! His grades are up in all his classes, even math.  To this day, I recommend the [LP Learning] center to my friends.”
